How the diagnosis runs
A dishwasher fault gets traced along the path the water takes: how the unit fills, whether the circulation pump drives the spray arms at full strength, whether the drain pump empties the sump, and what the hose does between the machine and the sink drain.
Level and door alignment are read before any part is condemned. On a built-in, a unit leaning even slightly or a door hanging out of true produces standing water and corner leaks that look exactly like a failed part.
Panel-ready units
A panel-ready unit comes out with its panel still on. The toe kick comes off first, the mounting brackets are freed from the counter or the side cabinets, and the levelling legs are wound down until the top clears the counter edge. The unit then slides forward over a covered floor, with slack left in the water line, drain hose and cord.
Viking's manuals set a limit on the panel a door is built to carry: 19 lb in the VDWU524 installation guide, up to 22 lb in the DFUD042 instructions. When a door drops open after a new panel goes on, the panel's weight against that limit is the first thing we check.
