Why Does It Leak from One Corner After New Flooring?
Short answer
Most often it lost its level when the floor changed. New flooring under the front feet but not the rear, or a floor that is not flat, tips the unit, and water in the tub runs to the low corner of the door seal. How a floor job moves a level machine
Laying a new floor usually means the dishwasher is lifted or pulled forward, and it can go back higher at the front than at the rear, with its fixings loosened. Past the tilt it tolerates, the lowest corner is where the water shows.
The door and the cabinet base
If the bottom edge of the door hits the cabinet base, Viking’s VDWU524 manual has that part of the base cut out and the cut edge sealed or painted against moisture.
Other causes, and the valley floor

Tell your contractor
- Treat the four legs as one: either all of them stand on the new floor or none of them do.
- Whoever moves the unit for the floor work re-levels it and re-tightens its fixings before the toe kick goes back.
When to call
Call when water shows at one front corner, the door stops closing square, or the unit rocks under a loaded door. Towel the floor and stop running cycles until then.
